Merdeka Sales!

Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!. Its the 31st of August alright. So lets see whats in store for the merdeka sales today.First up is a "piring hitam" / LP.Quite an interesting one too.Take a peek below.

front sleeve

Back sleeve
A 45rpm Nestle Milkmaid "THE GROWING UP MILK"  LP. Milkmaid or locally known as "susu Cap Junjung".You can see the condensed milk can at the bottom of the righthand corner of the sleeve.

Next up.Ho ,Ho,Horlicks! Brief history is as follows.Horlicks is the name of a company and of a malted milk hot drink, which is claimed to promote sleep when consumed at bedtime. There is, however, no evidence that malted milk directly promotes sleep; it may merely stave off hunger pangs that could disturb sleep.( set up in1873) It is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline in the United Kingdom, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and Jamaica, and under licence in the Philippines and Malaysia. A couple of  Horlicks collectible items for sale below.

On the left is a coin box which came with the shortlived chocolate version of Horlicks or known as Chocolate Horlicks.Beside the coinbox as seen in the picture is a unused old stock glass with chinese characters at the back of it.

Finally i am putting up a Salem clock for sale. Its running and keeps good time.Would make a handsome piece for those into  the"kopitiam" concept.Salem is brand of cigarettes introduced in 1956 by the RJR as the first filter-tipped menthol cigarette. Its name (along with that of the Winston brand) derives from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the city where RJR was founded and headquartered. Salem cigarettes are unique in that they are blended with Asian Menthol rather than the traditional mainstream Menthol.Lets look at the clock then.
Thats about it for today folks.Hope everyone had a swinging merdeka holiday today.Till then keep happy and do take care.

Are you paying over $5 per pack of cigarettes? I'm buying all my cigarettes over at Duty Free Depot and this saves me over 60%.
